The President of the Iraqi Association for Information and Communications Technology meets with the President of the University of Basra for Oil and Gas to discuss participation in the Basra International Forum.
The head of the Iraqi Association for Information and Communications Technology (IAICT), Dr. Ali Nasser Al-Khuwaileidi, visited the headquarters of the University of Basra for Oil and Gas, where he met with the university president, Professor Dr. Muhammad Hleil Al-Kaabi, and a number of officials to discuss prospects for joint cooperation and the university's participation in the Basra International Forum for Energy Integration and Information Technology, scheduled to be held in Basra Governorate at the end of this April.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of involving the university in the forum's activities, given its academic and scientific weight specialized in the energy, oil, and gas sector, and its vital role in preparing national competencies and supporting research related to industry.
The two sides also discussed mechanisms for the university's participation and sponsorship of the forum, reflecting its institutional standing and contributing to enhancing academic presence in dialogue and discussion sessions related to the integration of energy with information technology, digital transformation, and innovation in the management and operation of oil and energy projects.
The forum will witness broad international, Arab, and local participation from public and private sector institutions, aiming to build bridges of cooperation between academic, industrial, and investment entities, and to create real investment opportunities in the fields of smart energy, digital infrastructure, and advanced technological solutions.
Dr. Ali Nasser Al-Khuwaileidi affirmed that the forum represents a strategic platform to enhance integration between energy and information technology, and to stimulate national and international partnerships, thereby supporting the national economy and attracting quality investments to Basra Governorate and Iraq in general.
For his part, the university president welcomed the initiative, affirming the university's readiness to actively participate in the forum's proceedings and contribute to its success by providing scientific and research insights that support the paths of integration between the academic and industrial sectors.
