The Supreme Council of Iraqi Scientific Societies holds its third and final meeting for the year 2025.
The Supreme Council of Iraqi Scientific Societies held its third and final meeting for this year on Saturday, corresponding to 27/12/2025, with a distinguished attendance of the heads of Iraqi scientific societies from Baghdad and all governorates.
During the meeting, a number of important organizational and scientific issues were discussed, resulting in the adoption of the following decisions:
1- Approval of the opening of consulting offices for scientific societies, following the initiative of the Council President to obtain approval from the Ministry of Planning, in accordance with the applicable instructions in this regard.
2- Granting letters of thanks and appreciation to the societies that consistently attended the meetings of the Supreme Council of Scientific Societies.
3- Issuing a warning to the societies that did not comply with attendance or did not pay the annual fees due to the Council, and submitting the names of those societies to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Scientific Coordination / Division of Scientific Societies.
4- Granting letters of thanks and appreciation to the chairperson and members of the committees that contributed to presenting important studies to serve Iraqi society regarding the phenomenon of divorce and suicide cases in Iraqi society.
Based on the discussions and the importance of the topic, it was decided to present two separate studies: the first concerning the phenomenon of divorce, and the other addressing suicide cases, along with an explanation of the causes and treatments.
5- Approval of the interim financial regulations for the Supreme Council of Scientific Societies, with the aim of preserving the financial rights of the societies and opening a bank account for the Council, in accordance with instructions and the law.
6- Approval of the establishment of the Iraqi Society for Yazidi Research and Studies through paper voting and live signature.
7- Contacting all ministries and bodies not affiliated with a ministry, for the purpose of sending their representatives to the Supreme Council of Scientific Societies.
8- Approval of holding scientific forums organized by societies with similar and corresponding specializations (medical, engineering, technical, humanitarian, scientific…).
9- Preparing controls and instructions for classifying Iraqi scientific societies, and issuing an annual sequence for them.
10- Forming a committee of specialists to prepare an internal system for the Supreme Council of Iraqi Scientific Societies, accompanied by an appendix including the vision, mission, and objectives.
11- On the occasion of the Scientific Book and Scientific Outputs Exhibition, the Iraqi Society for Libraries and Information presented the Excellence Shield to each of:
A- The President of the Supreme Council of Scientific Societies, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahed.
B- The Vice President of the Council, Assistant Professor Dr. Talib Zaidan Al-Mousawi.
At the conclusion of the session, the proceedings were adjourned, wishing continued success and guidance.
