The Ministry of Higher Education clarifies the mechanism for dealing with accredited scientific associations.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research clarified the mechanism for dealing with accredited scientific societies, confirming the accreditation of societies established in accordance with the Scientific Societies Law No. (55) of 1981, as amended and in force.

The Ministry stated, in a letter issued by the Research and Development Department, that a list of accredited scientific societies is attached, starting with (the Iraqi Engineers Society) and ending with (the Iraqi Society of Neurosurgeons). It indicated that universities and academic institutions can deal with these societies in organizing scientific activities within each society's specialization, without needing to inquire about their establishment or accreditation.

The Ministry explained that if there is a desire to deal with a society not included in the list, an official request must be submitted, accompanied by the ministerial order regarding the establishment of the society and the latest approval of its elections, in order to complete the procedural requirements.

This clarification comes within the framework of organizing scientific work and enhancing cooperation between universities and accredited scientific societies to serve the academic and research process in the country.
