The Research and Development Directorate calls on scientific associations to obtain the certificate of establishment.
The Research and Development Directorate at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has called upon all heads of scientific associations to initiate procedures for obtaining a certificate of establishment, as part of the Ministry's efforts to remove administrative obstacles and enhance the role of these associations in national and international forums.
The Directorate clarified in an official letter issued on April 6, 2026, that this step aligns with achieving the scientific objectives stipulated in the amended Scientific Associations Law No. (55) of 1981, thereby contributing to organizing the work of associations and improving their institutional performance.
The Directorate emphasized that associations wishing to obtain a certificate of establishment may do so by submitting a formal request to the Research and Development Directorate, in accordance with approved regulations and instructions, stressing the importance of these procedures in supporting scientific activity and expanding the horizons of research cooperation.
This initiative comes within the Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance the scientific environment and activate the role of specialized associations in serving the academic and research mission in Iraq.
