An electronic scientific symposium on quantum computing and its applications.
The Iraqi Association for Information and Communications Technology (IAICT) – Najaf Office, in cooperation with the Digital Development Center (DDC) and in coordination with the Iraqi Telecom and Information Technology Group (ITIG), held an electronic scientific seminar via the Zoom platform entitled:
“Quantum Computing and Its Practical and Commercial Applications,” with the participation of a select group of academics, researchers, and those interested in the field of information and communications technology.
The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Engineer Essam Abdul Wahid Al-Khalidi, Director of the Information Research and Rehabilitation Center at the University of Kufa and Secretary of the Association’s Office in Najaf. During his lecture, he reviewed the scientific foundations of quantum computing and its main principles, along with clarifying the differences between it and traditional computing, highlighting its future applications in various fields, as well as discussing the technical challenges associated with adopting this advanced type of computing.
The seminar witnessed distinguished scientific interaction from the attendees, through interventions and discussions that contributed to enriching the session and enhancing general understanding of this vital field.
This seminar comes within the efforts of the Iraqi Association for Information and Communications Technology – Najaf Office to activate its scientific and societal role, by organizing specialized qualitative events aimed at disseminating modern technical knowledge, supporting digital transformation pathways, and empowering national competencies in the field of information and communications technology.
