The Iraqi Association for Information and Communications Technology (IAICT) – Karbala Office, in coordination with the Engineers Syndicate, Karbala Branch, organized a specialized in-person workshop on digital investigations and cybercrime detection, presented by a specialized team from the Cybercrime Division of the Holy Karbala Police Command, after obtaining the necessary official approvals.

The workshop addressed the judicial procedures followed in combating cybercrimes, alongside presenting the most important preventive guidelines to protect individuals and families from cases of electronic blackmail, thereby contributing to preserving the social fabric. The mechanisms for activating electronic accounts were also highlighted, and the algorithms of social media platforms were explained.

The workshop's topics included a discussion of electronic money transfers, phishing operations, common mistakes in using electronic payment cards, and the legal issues that may arise from them, along with an explanation of prevention methods and how to avoid problems.

The lecturers also warned of common issues that lead to the registration of dozens of lawsuits daily, emphasizing the importance of the family's role and awareness in protecting children from the dangers of tablets, accounts, and games that harm the social fabric, and their impact on children's behavior, while clarifying the procedures to be followed to reduce these risks.
